Visit with artist Sandie Bell in her studio where she enjoys experimenting and working with different media and styles. After drawing and painting for many years, she looks beyond what is obvious and reaches inside for a different way of seeing and presenting images and ideas. Living in the Carolinas provides daily inspiration, from the breathtaking colors of sunrises and sunsets to the ever-changing views of Lake Norman, the fascinating flora and fauna, and the beautiful mountains and beaches. She enjoys painting the occasional abstract just for the fun of it.

Ric Erkes

Ric Erkes returns to the Lakeside Artists Studio Tour to share his unique woodturnings. Having worked with wood most of his life, for the past 20 years Ric has focused primarily on the art of woodturning. He turns a variety of styles and shapes, some functional, but mostly on the artistic side. As a member of the American Association of Woodturners, he has studied with numerous masters in the field and demonstrated at various venues and woodturning clubs. Come to see for yourself how he combines the colors, patterns and even imperfections in the wood, all with the skill of an artist.
